Professional Experience
NEC Laboratories Europe
Research Scientist at the Human-centered AI Group
Worked on multiple Machine Learning projects related to Fact-checking and summarization.
- Worked on safety and factuality evaluation of Large Language Models, aspect-based summarization and fact-checking.
- Led the development of several demonstrations for business units.
NEC Laboratories Europe
Research associate at the Human-centered AI Group
Worked on multiple Machine Learning projects related to Explainable AI, Knowledge Graphs and NLP.
- Developed tools and APIs that facilitate the analysis of Knowledge Graph Embedding models.
- Led the development of Human Centered AI system evaluation experiments, deploying tests on MTurk.
NEC Laboratories Europe
Machine Learning intern at the Explainable AI Group
Carried out research where we propose the fine-grained evaluation of Knowledge Graph Embedding models:
- We define key capabilities that a model should have and designing unit tests to target these capabilities.
- Our proposed method allows us to test KGE models more systematically to understand what they learn and enables us to compare which models is more appropriate for a given task.
Tokyo Institute of Technology
Research Assistant at Okazaki Lab
Carried out research in several topics
- Applying software testing methodologies for Behavioral Testing of Knowledge Graph Embedding Models (WiNLP and AKBC2021).
- Using multiple methods on BERT to recognize sentences against commonsense and justify the reasoning behind this decision. Investigated the ability to transfer commonsense knowledge between tasks by training a model for the Explanation task with Next Event Prediction data.
CodeTechniq
iOS development curriculum engineer and instructor
Designed the full curriculum for the iOS development course in a bootcamp
- Developing course material, iOS applications/games, and tutorials for the iOS course
- Giving weekly lessons, and conducting code reviews and offering mentorship for the students.
- Managed a team of 3 for the organization of hackathons, workshops, and other events, as well as the coordination of recruitment for other courses (python for ML).
Maritime Data Systems
iOS development intern
- Using React native to develop a cross platform application.
- Applied a hybrid recommendation system of collaborative and content based to recommend shipyards for docking to vessels (Airbnb of shipyards).
- Led the creation of Progressive Web App (shipahoy.io) that simulates the movement of ships in a specific port.
